富國中最低 日女性科學家只占1/7

日本政府14日公布的數據顯示，日本的科學家中只有七分之一是女性；這在日本已是相當高的比例，卻是已開發國家中的最低比例。
日本總務省於2013年3月進行全國性調查，結果發現，日本有12萬7,800名女性科學家，占總數的14.4%，與2012年同期相比，增加了0.4%。
日本總務省說，與2003年相比，日本各機構女性科學家人數的增加速度，超越了男性科學家。
儘管女性科學家的比例為七分之一，創下日本歷來最高紀錄，但是在有富國俱樂部之稱的經濟合作暨發展組織(OECD)中，卻是比例最低的。
2012年，俄羅斯女性科學家比例達41.2%；2011年，英國女性科學家比例為37.7%，義大利的比例為34.9%；2010年，美國的比例為33.6%。
即使是與2011年德國(26.7%)、法國(25.6%)、南韓(17.3%)的比例相較，日本公布的最新數據也難以相提並論。
