美國環保署長麥卡錫抵台

美國環保署長吉娜．麥卡錫（中）13日晚間搭機抵達桃園機場，成為14年來首位訪問台灣的美國內閣閣員。

我國外交部政務次長石定（右）、美國在台協會（AIT）台北辦事處處長馬啟思（左）等人在空橋門口接機，並陪同麥卡錫署長經由公務門禮遇通關入境，隨即登車由警車開道駛離桃園機場。

【中央社╱桃園機場13日電】美國環保署長吉娜‧麥卡錫（Gina McCarthy）今天晚間搭機抵達桃園機場，美國在台協會處長馬啟思前往接機。

麥卡錫今天搭乘聯合航空UA9683班機，晚間8時30分抵桃園國際機場。美國在台協會處長馬啟思(Christopher J. Marut)接機。

總統馬英九上任後，有許多美國官員來訪，麥卡錫是睽違14年後首位訪台的部長級官員。

麥卡錫明天上午將先到新北市建安國小參觀低碳教室、生態池，活動安排建安國小學生與紐澤西BenFranklin小學視訊報告，隨後將晉見總統馬英九及赴國立台灣大學發表公開演講。
